From Melrose and Katie (Katie Update #26)
All, as I hoped, here is a post from Katie and Melrose. The next one may well be in Katie's own words entirely. She is truly a miracle for whom God has great plans.

Hello to all of you from HOME!
Katie and I arrived home on Friday around 6:00 pm, and I cannot tell you how good it was to turn into our own neighborhood and drive down familiar streets to our house. It is amazing how important familiar sights and sounds are these days, and we are thankful for those small blessings.
As you probably know, we were discharged from the inpatient rehab unit at CHOA on Wednesday, March 23...no more hospitals! That in itself was a major milestone! A dear friend of mine from my teaching days in Atlanta helped us move just down the road to the Ronald McDonald House. That will be our "home away from home" while Katie completes her course of therapy in the day rehab program. At this point, we don't know how long that will be, but we should know by early next week when the evaluation process is complete.
Katie continues to amaze the therapists with her determination and will. As one of the physical therapists said yesterday, "There's really no reason she should be walking." While she still has some weakness from nerve damage on her left side, she compensates so well that it is not immediately apparent. We are confident that she will take on these and other challenges in typical Katie fashion!
It is no mistake that we are home to celebrate Easter this weekend. Our Lord continues to hold us in the palm of His hand, and we thank Him many times daily. It is a blessing and a privilege to witness His on-going miracle. We have our precious Katie back and the healing continues. We thank God for each of you, and for every prayer you have prayed and continue to pray on our behalf. We see the face of God and feel His touch with each encouraging message you send through the mail or posted on the web site.
One day we will thank each of you in person for all you are doing for us, but for now this forum will have to suffice. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
In His Hands,
Melrose
PS - The Trinity Prayer Pager is our tangible link to your prayers, so be assured that they are reaching us in Atlanta. Please keep them coming…we get so much comfort from that familiar "buzz!" The pager is always attached to one of us.
PRAY ON!

Dear Katie and Family,
I was fortunate enough the other day to have a glimpse of you katie as i was driving home on I-20. I cant tell you how moved i was so see you even for that split second. I had a tremendous feeling of determination and positvie hope that i am sure that gave to me. I am praying for you every step of the way, and thank you for making that particular day of mine -Chris Lietzow

Why can't we just praise Katie for her recovery, instead of always crediting GOD GOD GOD! May I remind you who put her in this situation?!!!

Great news to read how our Precious Lord and Saviour has worked in and through your life, Katie. Maybe one day soon, I will meet you face to face and will see the miracle for my self. I only know of you through Davis Parker's grandmother but am thankful for all the updates and now the one I just read about you being home for Easter.
Because of Him,

That is absolutely terrible! I don't understand how someone could be so inconsiderate. Don't mind him, folks, he is obviously an ignorant stranger who happened to cross Katie's blog and post to attain his sick twisted pleasure.

It's obvious that the Enemy is alive and well in the hearts of some people. Let us pray for those people.....Now, let us rejoice and give God all the glory for the amazing healing He has allowed for Katie. Katie, you are strong and courageous. May God continue to bless you and use you to be His light to this world. It needs you!

Note that the offending comment has been removed (I only hope not too many people had to read that). Additionally, I've turned on a feature which should log enough information for me to track down anyone making such posts in the future. I hope this will also deter anyone from doing it in the first place. What a creep!
